At an active construction site in the Bronx, a laborer was descending a staircase that had not yet been properly finished or filled with concrete. Without adequate warning or safeguards in place, the worker tripped on the uneven steps and fell down the entire flight, landing forcefully on the platform below. The fall resulted in a severe heel bone fracture requiring immediate surgical intervention and a lengthy recovery period.

Taxi Driver Rear-Ended by Commercial Van
A driver lawfully stopped at a red light in NY County when a commercial vehicle crashed into the rear of his vehicle. The impact caused a violent whiplash motion, severely injuring the driver’s neck. Medical imaging revealed a significant herniated disc that required emergency surgery, a discectomy and the implantation of a metal replacement disc. The driver underwent extensive physical therapy during his recovery.

Surgical Error During Hysterectomy
A woman underwent a routine hysterectomy at a NY hospital, during which her colon was negligently lacerated. The injury went undetected, and after discharge, she collapsed at home from internal bleeding and contamination. She was rushed back in critical condition and needed two major surgeries, including a temporary stoma. Her recovery was long and painful. The case was brought in Bronx County.

In Kings County, a bicyclist was riding through an intersection when a negligent driver made a sudden left turn into his path. The impact threw him to the ground, severing his femoral artery — a life-threatening injury. Emergency surgery saved his life, but he required extensive physical therapy and still suffers lasting effects. The case was filed and resolved in Kings County Supreme Court.

A claim was filed against the property owner for failing to maintain a safe walkway. The case settled in NY County Supreme Court.
